My name is Steve Ellis and I am the owner of Light House Studio in Knoxville, TN. I started my career as a photographer over 25 years ago and have added the field of web design in the last 5 years or so. It is difficult to say how long I have been a web designer because it was not an official job for many years. I started building web sites about 10 years ago, but have only been doing this as a "business" for about 3 years.
In the last 5 years or so, I have built or assisted others in building numerous sites of different styles and technologies. I started out with my friends, but as word got out, I found more and more people asking for my services. Finally, a few years ago, I saw that God was leading me in this direction and I began to take on actual paying clients. I still do mostly photography, but my web work is growing to a larger percentage of my work all the time.
The two fields are related in many ways and they each appeal to a different side of my personality. (The creative side and the geek side). I enjoy what I do and hope to continue for many more years.
